Across cities and islands, builders gathered to learn, experiment, and discover how Filipinos can shape the future of Ethereum.
A Year of Expanding the Builder Network
Throughout 2025, Ethereum Philippines focused on one core mission: growing the number of Filipino builders capable of contributing to the Ethereum ecosystem. Rather than concentrating activity in a single city, ETHPH brought workshops, meetups, and technical discussions across different regions of the country.
The year began with Devcon Recap Manila (January 2025), followed by Ethereum Workshop Pangasinan and Devcon Recap Baguio in February, helping bring insights from the global Ethereum community back to local builders. In March, ETHPH hosted the EigenLayer AVS Dinner, bringing together developers and ecosystem contributors to discuss emerging infrastructure and research directions.
Momentum continued with deeper technical initiatives. The Ethereum Development Workshop in Baguio (April 2025) focused on practical developer education, while June marked a major milestone with the Davao Ethereum Workshop and the launch of ETHPH Mindanao, expanding the community’s presence in the southern Philippines.
From there, the pace accelerated: Infinite Hack Cebu (July 2025), 10 Years of Ethereum celebrations in Cebu and Davao, Speedrun Ethereum Davao (August), Cipher Cebu (September), Proof of Teach Mindanao (September), and Lisk Pitching Day in Cebu and Davao (October). Each event contributed to a larger goal—introducing more developers, educators, and builders to Ethereum and giving them the tools to start building.
From Events to Builder Infrastructure
Looking back, a clear pattern emerges from the year’s activities. ETHPH was not simply hosting events—it was building pathways into the Ethereum ecosystem. Many of the gatherings focused on developer onboarding, technical education, and collaboration between communities, universities, and global Ethereum organizations.
Workshops like Cipher Cebu explored deeper cryptographic concepts, while programs like Proof of Teach Mindanao focused on empowering instructors who could bring blockchain education to their own institutions. Hackathons and pitching events created opportunities for builders to experiment with real ideas and connect with global protocols.
The broader significance of these efforts became clearer with the release of The Philippines Ethereum Ecosystem Overview, a report documenting the growing presence of Ethereum infrastructure, startups, and developer communities across the country. The report highlights how the Philippines has become one of the world’s most active crypto markets, with millions of users and increasing experimentation around stablecoins, remittances, tokenized assets, and decentralized finance.
For ETHPH, the report serves as both recognition and a reminder: the country has strong adoption, vibrant communities, and global relevance—but still needs more builders to fully unlock its potential.
Because of this, ETHPH’s approach for 2026 will evolve. Instead of primarily organizing events, the focus will shift toward building long-term infrastructure for Filipino Ethereum talent—supporting developer education pipelines, strengthening regional ecosystems, and helping local builders contribute directly to global Ethereum projects.
The goal is simple but ambitious: to help make the Philippines a recognized powerhouse for Ethereum talent in Southeast Asia.
The next phase for Ethereum Philippines is not just about gathering communities—it is about building builders.
