What Filipinos Bring to the Global Ethereum Space

Filipinos met with key players from other communities, opening doors for future partnerships and collaborations.

A Southeast Asian Home Inside Devcon7

At Devcon7, Ethereum Philippines helped lead the organization of the ETH SEA Hub, a collaborative space designed to highlight the growing presence of Southeast Asian builders in the global Ethereum ecosystem. What began as a simple idea—to create a common meeting ground for regional communities—quickly turned into one of the most vibrant gathering spaces inside the conference.

The hub brought together organizers and contributors from ETHPH, ETHKL, ETH Vietnam, ETHPadThai, ETH Singapore, ETH Indonesia, and Web3 Together of Cambodia. Together, these communities worked to showcase how Ethereum adoption across Southeast Asia is driven by grassroots collaboration, developer education, and open-source culture.

One of the highlights of the space was an interactive map of Southeast Asian Ethereum communities, built collaboratively by the participating groups. The map showcased the unique strengths of each ecosystem—from developer meetups and hackathons to research initiatives and local builder networks—giving visitors a clearer picture of how Ethereum is growing across the region.

Collaboration, Culture, and Community

Beyond the exhibits, the ETH SEA Hub was designed to encourage real interaction between communities. Each participating country hosted dedicated meetup hours, allowing attendees to learn directly from organizers and builders representing different ecosystems. A larger regional meetup followed, creating an opportunity for people from across Southeast Asia to meet, exchange ideas, and discover potential collaborations.

The hub also included a shared merch stand, run by Ethereum Philippines, ETHKL, and ETH Vietnam, celebrating the unique identities of each community while highlighting their shared connection through Ethereum. Nearby, a “Want-to-Visit” whiteboard allowed digital nomads and travelers to mark the Southeast Asian cities they hoped to explore, sparking conversations about regional meetups and future gatherings.

Other interactive elements added a playful but meaningful layer to the space. An anonymous message wall allowed attendees to leave notes, reflections, and greetings to the community, while the open hangout space at the center of Devcon7 became a natural place for builders to rest, talk, and form new friendships.

For Ethereum Philippines, helping lead the ETH SEA Hub was more than an event activation. It was a reminder that Southeast Asia’s strength lies in its communities—independent, diverse, and collaborative. By working together, these ecosystems are not only shaping Ethereum in the region but also contributing new energy, perspectives, and talent to the global Ethereum movement.

When Southeast Asian communities come together, Ethereum becomes more than technology—it becomes a shared future built across borders.
