Across cities and islands, builders gathered to learn, experiment, and discover how Filipinos can shape the future of Ethereum.
Ten years after Ethereum’s genesis block was mined on July 30, 2015, communities around the world came together to celebrate how the network transformed the internet through smart contracts and decentralized applications. In the Philippines, Ethereum Philippines marked the milestone with gatherings in Cebu and Davao, bringing together developers, builders, and curious newcomers to reflect on the journey of the ecosystem and what the next decade might bring.

Celebrating a Decade of Ethereum
In Cebu, members of the local Ethereum community gathered for an evening of conversation, games, and shared stories about how Ethereum shaped their journeys as builders. Participants tuned into the global anniversary livestream featuring key contributors to the ecosystem while connecting with fellow developers and community members.
The celebration blended technical curiosity with community spirit. Attendees shared food, played board games, and reflected on the projects and experiments that Ethereum has enabled over the past decade—from decentralized finance and NFTs to new models of ownership and online coordination.
A Shared Moment Across Communities
In Davao, ETHPH Mindanao hosted a parallel meetup where developers, mentors, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the milestone together. The event included a livestream watch party, discussions about Ethereum’s impact, and a birthday celebration marking ten years of the network’s existence.
Although the two events took place in different cities, the spirit was the same: a moment to pause and recognize how far the ecosystem has come. Conversations during the gatherings also turned toward the future, with many participants already working on projects through initiatives such as hackathons and builder programs designed to strengthen the Filipino Ethereum community.
A decade later, Ethereum continues to grow—not just as technology, but as a community of builders around the world.
