A new generation of builders in North Luzon began their journey into Ethereum development.
The Ethereum Development Workshop in Baguio was designed as an entry point for developers and students who wanted to move beyond simply learning about blockchain and start building with it. Hosted by Ethereum Philippines together with partners in Baguio, the two-day workshop focused on helping participants understand how Ethereum works and how they could become technical contributors to the ecosystem.

Learning to Build on Ethereum
Held on April 25–26 in Baguio, the workshop introduced participants to the core concepts behind blockchain, smart contracts, and decentralized applications. Rather than focusing on theory alone, the sessions guided attendees through the process of writing and deploying their first smart contracts using Solidity and modern Ethereum tooling
Participants also explored how smart contracts interact with frontend interfaces and how decentralized applications can compose with one another. This hands-on approach allowed developers to understand not only how Ethereum works, but also how different components of the ecosystem fit together.
Growing the Builder Ecosystem in North Luzon
The workshop attracted students, developers, and educators who were curious about building on Ethereum or pursuing careers in blockchain development. By bringing technical training directly to regional communities, ETHPH continues to expand access to Ethereum education beyond traditional tech hubs.
For many participants, the event served as their first step into the broader Ethereum ecosystem. Through hands-on experimentation, collaborative learning, and direct mentorship, the workshop helped transform curiosity into practical skills—laying the foundation for new builders who can contribute to Ethereum from different parts of the Philippines.
Builder ecosystems start with education—and every smart contract begins with someone writing their first line of code.
